About us

The Liverpool League of Animal Behaviour Scientists is a group of researchers from institutions in and around Liverpool who are fascinated by the brilliant and bizarre ways animals behave.

Our work ranges from tracking seabirds flying around the Antarctic, to the calls antelopes use to attract mates in the Serengeti, to the mating behaviour of meerkats and mongooses and why praying mantis females are so likely to eat the males they mate with. Our research ranges from studies in nature to work on insects in the laboratory.
